Reports of flood damage in the Thompson Valley <br />go back to 1864 when settler's cabins were washed away, lowlands <br />submerged and meadows destroyed (Ref. 2). <br /> <br />In the succeeding 112 years, twelve additional major floods <br />have occurred.
