<br />2. Location <br /> <br />The Dallas Creek Project is located in the Uncompahgre River Valley <br /> <br />in western Colorado. Project features are located in Ouray County while <br /> <br />project water would benefit Ouray, Delta, and Montrose Counties. Figure 1 <br /> <br />shows the project area. <br /> <br />3. Project Plan <br /> <br />A complete description of the Dallas Creek Project can be found in <br /> <br />the Dallas Creek Project Final Environmental Impact Statement (Bureau of <br /> <br />Reclamation, 1976). <br /> <br />The project consists of Ridgway Reservoir on the <br />\ <br /> <br />Uncompa~5re River, two public recreation areas at the reservoir, measures to <br /> <br />enhance fishing opportunities, and measures to' mitigate wildlife habitat <br /> <br />losses. An <br /> <br />additional surcharge capacity of 9,230 acre-feet will be provided to temporarily <br /> <br />contain flood flows until discharged through the spillway.
