44,

In summaI'f, the Ideal Demand and Storage Study shows that an
added facility is needed Just below Denver to store and regulate
50,000 acre-feet annually by the year 1990. We have stated the
generally-accepted conclusion that Two Forks will be needed, and
we have shown that water could be saved by implementing water
saving practices such as integrating well pumping with surface
supplies and reducing the acre-feet per acre diverted by improVing
conveyal1ce structures. In order to accomplish these things a new
'unit is needed above the Narrows Unit.

Furthermore, the Ideal Demand and Storage Study shows that
further develQpment below Narrows could more fully develop the
valley's water supply.

We have had many resolutions from the valley in favor of the
unitJ some for one site and some for the other. We in the Bureau
appreciate these expressions of interest, and hope that we can
soon get under way toward construction.

--~
