PUBLIC HEARINGS AND WRITTEN COMMENTS AND RESPONSES ON THE DRAFT SUPPLEMENT
Comments from federal and state agencies, businesses or attorneys, and
individuals were received regarding both the Draft Supplement and the Addendum.
This chapter contains the comment letters and the corresponding responses for
the Addendum.
Comments on the Draft Supplement were received during a public hearing on
July 12, 1983, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Written transcripts of these
hearings were prepared by the Bureau of Reclamation. Additional written com-
ments were received during the comment period following the public hearings and
following distribution of the draft in October 1983. The written comments
addressed all of the issues raised during the public hearing. The comment
letters are reproduced in this section. Accompanying each identified comment
is a response gi vi ng either suppl ementary i nformat ion or a reference to an
appropriate section of the EIS Supplement where revisions were made to the draft
EIS Supplement,
The 27 comment letters have been grouped as to type of agency (federal,
state, conservation group, individuals, and businesses or attorneys), and num-
bered sequentially. Comments are referenced to the index number of the com-
menting agency and then are numbered consecutively within the comment letter
(e.g., Index Number 2-2 refers to the second comment from EPA). The responses
to the comments appear adjacent to the reproduced comment letter for ease of
reference. In addition, to permit cross referencing the comment by discipline
(aquat-4e-bi~economi cs-;-etc. ), a.n-mnex-to the commenul s provi(le(l.
It should be noted that page numbers referred to in comment letters
correspond to the pages from the Draft Supplement. However, page numbers
mentioned in the responses correspond to this document.
