Most of the comments were in the form of a mass
mailing expressing essentially identical coocems.

-

Reclamation developed a paper entitled "Assessment of
Changes to the Glen Canyon Dam Environmental Impact
Statement Preferred Alternative from Draft to Final ElS"
which fully responds to the coocems raised by the com-
ments regarding the modifications to the preferred alterna-
tive between the dmft and f"ma1 EIS. The paper was dis-
tributed to 150 interested agencies, organizations, and indi-
vidnals in October 1995. The analyses described in that
document are based on existing information, interpolation of Glen Canyon
Environmental Studies research flow results, and additional model simulations with the
revised operating criteria. Normally, the
SecretaJy responds to each individually; but due to the large number of letters, the
SecretaJy's office felt that a response in the form of a newsletter was more practical and
cost effective.

(continued on page 2)
