Denver has filings and/or conditional decrees for additional
water from the Blue, Eagle and Piney river basins. Aurora, a supply
agency in the Primary area, and Colorado Springs are jointly con-
structing the Homestake Project which will divert water from the
headwaters of the Eagle River into the Arkansas River basin, thence
into the South Platte River basin for use by these municipalities.
Smaller transmountain diversion projects include the Boreas Pass
Ditch owned by the City of Englewood, and the Berthoud Pass Ditch,
a part of the supply being owned by the City of Golden. Plans have
been made to divert Yampa River water to the Eastern Slope for
mWlicipal use north of Denver. A conditional decree for this project
was denied in the District Court. The decision was reversed by the
State Supreme Court.

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

West Slope
Western Slope streams tributary to the Colorado River, having
surplus water which is now used, and will in the future be used, to
supply part of the metropolitan area water requirements, include the
Eagle River, Piney River, Blue River, Williams Fork River, Fraser
River and their tributaries, and possibly the Yampa River.
