<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />and wi n produce product water of approximately 240 p/m. <br /> <br />The product <br /> <br />water will be mixed with the untreated portion of Wellton-Mohawk drainage <br />N <br />l-" flows and there it will mix ~Iith other waters in the river and be delivered <br />N <br />lof;." to t'1exico at Morelos Dam. <br /> <br />The desalting operations will produce a reject stream averaging 61 ft3/s <br />and 9,600 plm, T.D.S., which will be conveyed in a bypass drain to <br />Santa Clara Slough, Sonora, Mexico, upstream from the Gulf of California. <br />This concrete-lined channel will be designed to carry a flow of 353 ft3/s. <br />This capacity, which is the same as that of the existing portion of the <br /> <br />Main Outlet Drain Extension, is being provided in order to be able to <br />bypass the full flow of the Wellton-Mohawk drainage waters when the desalting <br />plant is not in operation. It will extend 16 miles from the terminus of the <br />existing concrete channel at Morelos Dam to the Southerly International <br />Boundary. From here it will extend approximately 37 miles to the Santa Clara <br /> <br />Slough. The ~2xican Government will construct that portion of the chann~l <br />in ~lexi co. <br /> <br />In order to maintain a reliable flow through the Main Outlet Drain <br /> <br />Extension to the desalting plant west of Yuma, the existing above-ground <br /> <br />metal flume located adjacent to the narro'r/ Colorado River channel between <br />Prison Hill and Indian Hill will be replaced with a siphon. The 3,lOO-foot- <br />long siphon will be buried adjacent to the existing flume, which will be <br />removed follo't/ing construction.
