A reservoir and water transmission ditch is proposed on Sweetwater Creek
about 1 mile east of Indian Lake.

Area S. 10,140 acres. The Patterson Creek basin, including Blair Lake, Shadow
Lake, Jet Lake, and Blair Mountain, was studied for inclusion in the proposed addition.
This area was not considered suitable because it contains 11'% miles of four-wheel-drive
trails which have been well established over the years, and continued access is needed
in this area for wildlife harvest. The Blair Mountain Road will be constructed along
Blair Mountain to provide an important transportation link between the Coffee Pot Road
and the New Castle-Buford Road for administration and public use.

Area T, 11,980 acres. The areas below the proposed boundary in Ute Creek and
Papoose Creek contain commercial timber lands and managed range allotments with all
accompanying structures. Lower Marvine Creek has established four-wheel-drive trails
and extensive commercial timber lands. East Marvine Creek below the proposed bound-
ary is used heavily by motorized equipment and will be developed for a deferred rota-
tion range management system with man-made improvements. Wild Cow Park is
covered by existing oil and gas leases.

Areas of Primitive Area Recommended for Declassification

The Forest Service determined that six small sections of the Primitive Area, de-
signated as Areas 1 thru 6 on Map B, on Page 14, not be included in the Wilderness.
Doing so places the boundary lines on more definable and recognizable locat.ions.

2:~
