. 001592 . . , On the Grand Mesa project near Cedaredge, Colorado, plan form- ulation studies and water supply studies are in progress. Prep- aration of a draft of the project lands and drainage appendices is nearing completion. A proposed feasibility report is scheduled for completion in fiscal year 1969. On the Yellow Jacket project L~ar Meeker, Colorado, feasibil- ity design data for Thornburgh Dam, Lost Park Dam, Ripple Dam, Milk Creek Diversion Dam, and major structures for Yellow Jacket and Josephine Basin Canals have been submitted to the Chief Engineer of the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver for preparation of feasibility designs and estimates. The drainage and water supply appendices are completed. Preparation of the Plan Formulation and Agricultural Economy appendices is continuing. It is anticipated that the proposed reports will be completed in the fall of this year. Advance Planninq Preparation of the Fruitland Mesa Project Definite Plan Report and the financial and economic analysis studies are nearing comple- tion. It is anticipated that the report will be completed before the end of the fiscal year. The Fruitland Mesa project located near Crawford, Colorado, will develop presently unused flows of Soap, Curecanti, and Crystal Creeks for irrigation, fish and wild- life, and recreation. The project will provide a full irrigation supply to 15,870 acres of land and a supplemental supply for 7,010 acres that are not now adequately served from Crystal and Iron Creeks. On the Savery-Pot Hook project, land classification studies of the sandy soils in Fourmile and Timberlake areas, located in Colorado south of Baggs, Wyoming, hflve been completed. The studies indicate that about 2,820 acres of lands in these areas, classified as irrigable in a previous survey, are not suitable to be included in the project service area. Small Reclamation Proiects The Yamcolo Reservoir Company, Yampa, Colorado, and the Over- land Reservoir Company, Hotchkiss, Colorado, recently submitted Notices of Intent to apply for loans under the Small Reclamation Projects Act of 1956. Bureau representatives have met with the respective company officials to discuss information to be presented in the loan application reports. LDM:rnm 5/22/67 -3- 1 .
