Because some delay has been experienced in installation of the turbines and electrical work, it is now estimated that the first generator will go on the line sometime in July, rather than June. Concrete placements in Morrow Point Dam were started for the season on March 27. The dam will be topped out this sumrner--prob- ably about the end of August. The contractor has been busy t.hrough the winter on other phases of the work. He has completed placement of concrete in the underground powerplant; has completed the con- crete work in both penstocks and in both draft tube tunnels; and is placing concrete in the stilling basin and the weir. Work is also progressing on excavation of the river channel downst.ream from the dam and installation of the 2S0-ton powerplant overhead crane. Overall completion of the contract is about 80 percent. The Silt Project near Rifle, Colorado is essentially complet.e. Irrigation water will be delivered from the Rifle Gap reservoir this summer. Modification of the diversion works for the Smith Fork Feeder Canal of the Smith Fork Project is essentially completed. The contractor at Silver Jack Dam, Bostwick Park Project, has resumed work aft.er being shut down since last November. Last fall the damsite area was cleared and stripping operations were nearly completed. The contract for repairs to the lining of the Gunnison Tunnel on t.he Uncompahgre Project was completed on March 22, 1967.
