<br />0~~ <br /> <br />-Approximately 5,603 acres of potential floodplain habitat; most <br />levees are natural; some man-made levees in the Green River, Utah <br />area. <br />-Floodplain owned and managed by the National Park Service (RM 0- <br />47), BLM (RM 47-23B), private landowners (RM 115-132), and Tribes <br />(RM 146-208). <br />-flows controlled partially by Flaming Gorge. <br />-willing cooperators include NPS, BLM, possibly the Tribes. <br />-Conclusion: of high biological importance, and high priority for <br />habitat restoration. <br /> <br />3. Gunnison River RM 50 to RM 75 (Escalante SWA to N.F. Gunnison) <br /> <br />-Razorbacks: believed to have been historically abundant in this <br />area. <br />-Squawfish: reside in this section of river. <br />-774 acres of potential floodplain habitat; man-made levees. <br />-Wide alluvial floodplain valley; mostly privately owned. <br />-flows controlled partially by Aspinall. <br />-willing cooperators include CDOW and some private landowners. <br />-Conclusion: of high biological importance, and high priority for <br />habitat restoration. <br /> <br />4. Colorado River RM 127 to RM 240 (Westwater to Rifle) <br /> <br />-Squawfish: adult high concentration area; larval nursery area. <br />-Razorbacks: historical concentration area (razorbacks are believed <br />to have been historically abundant in this area). <br />-3,588 acres of potential floodplain habitat; man-made levees. <br />-Mostly privately-owned. <br />-Little to no control over flows. <br />-Conclusion: high priority for habitat restoration. <br /> <br />5. Colorado River RM 0 to RM 127 (Green River to Westwater) <br /> <br />-Squawfish: includes larval high-density nursery area; adult and <br />juvenile concentration and distribution areas. <br />-Razorbacks: includes historical adult distribution areas. <br />-1,483 acres of potential floodplain habitat. <br />-A mix of BLM, NPS, and private lands; includes Moab (RM 62-64), <br />Arches National Park (RM 64-75), and the Dolores River (RM 96); some <br />natural and man-made levees. <br />-Conclusion: medium priority for habitat restoration for razorbacks. <br /> <br />6. Green River RM 320 to RM 410 (Dinosaur to Flaming Gorge) <br /> <br />-Razorbacks: includes spawning and adult areas. <br />-Squawfish: includes high concentration and distribution areas for <br />adults, and nursery areas for young. <br />-Approximately 1,720 acres of potential floodplain habitat; some <br />man-made levees. <br /> <br />7 <br />
