FY 97 Description of Work

Implementation of the Levee Removal Strategy will continue along the
Green River, and will begin along the Gunnison and Colorado rivers (sites
will be screened for contaminants; will undergo floodability assessments;
and will require environmental compliance). Levees will be
breached/removed and evaluated.

The land acquisition person will continue to develop easement agreements
along the Green River. Sites where agreements can be developed will be
screened for contaminants; undergo floodability assessments; and will
require environmental compliance. Levees will be breached, removed, or
set back where necessary. A land acquisition person may be contracted to
develop easement agreements with landowners along the Gunnison and
Colorado rivers.

Controlled facilities will continue to test specific hypotheses.
Additional facilities are not planned, but could be developed if high-
priority needs are identified.

Portions of the Basin-Wide Monitoring/Evaluation Program will be
incorporated into the ISMP, if possible. The Basin-Wide Program will add
razorback suckers to the ISMP, and may affect the nonnative species
portions of the ISMP.

Deliverables

1. Contaminants
a.
