AAC Re~urn Flow Credi~ Com~u~ation
This sec~ion explains ~he calculation procedure for obtaining the return flow
credits from the AAC for the following users:

Coachella Valley Water District (CVWO)

o

;::~)

Imperial Irrigation District (lID)

C.l
\11&
'""
....

Yuma Project - Reserva~ion Division

Bard Unit

(Bard Water District/Deeded)

Indian Unit (Indian)

City of Yuma

Yuma Projec~ - Valley Division

Cocopah Indians (Indian)

Yuma Coun~y Water Users' Association

(YCWUA)

This methodology follows the procedure described in the
from the Regional Direc~or to the Execu~ive Director of
Board of California. A copy of ~his letter is attached

October, 19B7, letter
the Colorado River
to this sub-sec~ion.

The following defines the nomenclature used in the calculation procedure:

MRF - Measured return flow. Return flow credits from the AAe for the
users lis~ed above have two components. measured return flow and
unmeasured return flow. The City of Yuma and YCWUA are credi~ed
. with ~ retu= flows in addition to those from the Me. The
State of California, and the Reservation Division as a whole. are
credi~ed with return flows. net from the MC. but frem the
Reservation Division. These flows cannot be separated as to
origin so as to allow them to be credited to either the Indian or
the Bard Uni~. The procedure following concerns itself ~ with
the two-component flows from the MC. The return flow credits
computed in this sub-section are the ~ return flow credits
for lID and CVWD.

UHF - Unmeasured return flow from the AAC.

40

'"
