tions to proceed with construction of the two newly
authorized uni ts, implementation of the onfarlll program
and completion of feasiDllity studies on the remaining
units.

To tne Uur'eau of HecJ.alllation

1.

Heclamation should provitie funding to the Colorado Water
Conservation Board so that the Board can organize the
private laterals in the Grand Valley into one or more
entities which have legal authority to contract with the
Bureau of Ueclamation for the construction, operation,
and maintenance of the later'als so that the lining
program in the Grand VaJ.ley can proceed on schedule.

2.

Reclamation Sllould complete the test injection well
construction for tne Paradox Valley Unit as quiCKly as
possible.

3.

ReclamatIon should continue to work closely with state,
local, and federal entities to coordinate the salinity
contr'ol pl'ogra:n Iv ita local plans fOi' the Las Vegas luash.

4. Reclamation stloUld continue the use of consulting engi-
neer's to lilvestigate nell opportunities fo.' saline water
use,

5. ReclamatIon should, in consultation with the Advisory
CounCil, evaluate tne salinity control implementation
schedule so that Balt load reductions are consistent with
meeting the salinity objectives. FUl'ther, Reclamation
should also evaluate the availabIlity of monies from the
Basin funds in establishing that schedule.

6. ReclamatIon SDOUlti also seek tImely appropriations to
implement the construction of the units that were
authocized by P.L. 98"'569, as well as t.le previously
authorized units.
