<br />The Conservation Action/Metro Planning Division is a major unit within
<br />the Northeast Regional Office's Resource Planning Services Program Area.
<br />The Division's primary program responsibiJ ities include: National
<br />Rivers and Trails Studies, Regional Resource Studies, Urban Planning
<br />Studies and Assistance. and Technical Assistance. including coordination
<br />of Regional and National Conference~ deal ing with outdoor recreation
<br />and natural resources topics.

<br />Project T,A.P. provides practical information to public and private
<br />organizations and individuals actively involved' in outdoor recreation
<br />and natural resources issues, Technical Assistance Papers are designed

<br />an environmen~al Iy sensitive manner.

<br />our planners, Project T,A,P. (TeChnical Assistance Paper) has been
<br />established as a convenient meanS of transmitting both the information

<br />and the ideas developed by CA/MP staff. As such, it supplements the
<br />Division's ongoing technical assistance, efforts.

<br />SERIES A papers are prepared for general distri'bution, They offer.
<br />technical ass\stance to a broad spectrum of recreation and conserva-
