concentrations, cloud condensation nuclei spectra, cloud
droplet and in-cloud or below cloud-base raindrop measure-
ments and updraft-turbulence quantities. Onboard weather
radar and full recording of position and altitude, as well
as other meteorological parameters, should be included.
A second aircraft will be a heavy-duty hygroscopic seeding
aircraft having the range and load capacity for prolonged
seeding operations. Silver iodide and dry ice seeding
capabilities will also be included on this aircraft, as
well as recording of standard weather parameters and
position. A third cloud physics aircraft with seeding
capability will be added to the mobile research team during
the second year.

Field activities within this general outline will provide
hoth the scientific and system test objective and,at the
same time, demonstrate a prototype applicational project
that could essentially have similar equipment and procedures.

Of prime importance in conducting the field programs will
be immediate compilation of all data and description of
treatment activities, and preparation of a complete monthly
data report. These reports will permit early comprehensive
analysis, evaluation, and assessment of impacts by the
various groups involved with the project and by others.
Accelerated modeling development and verification will be
possible with this early data availability.
36
