INTRODUCTION

This report briefly summarizes the activities of the Pacific Southwest
Inter-Agency Committee and its Subcommittees during fiscal year 1973;
July I, 1972 to June 30, 1973. The published minutes of the PSIAC
meetings held during the year give further detail of the items noted
in this report.

The purpose of the PSIAC is to provide facilities and procedures for
the coordination of policies, programs, and activities of the States
and Federal agencies in the field of water and related land resources
investigation, planning, construction, operation, and maintenance; to
provide procedures for coordination of their interests with those of
other agencies in the water and related land resources field.

The Committee and its predecessor organization has been in existence
for 25 years, and has operated in conformance with the basic purpose
of promoting the coordination, cooperation, and exchange of information
and data on water and related land resources activities.

A list of PSIAC meetings and locations since the first meeting in
June 1955 and a list of PSIAC Chairmen since that time are included
herein as Appendix 1 and Appendix 2, respectively.

The State of Utah was elected as PSIAC Chairman state for fiscal
year 1974. Mr. Daniel F. Lawrence will be the PSIAC Chairman and
Mr. Bert Page the Executive Secretary.
