Prepared by

001491

Coordinated Planning Subcommittee

1. Meetings. The Coordinated Planning Subcommittee met five
times in fiscal year 1973 at Salt Lake City, Utah; San Francisco,
California; San Diego, California; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and
San Francisco, California.

.

2. Activities. CPS was designated by PSIAC to provide assistance
to the Water Resources Council in preparing the National Assessment.
A Regional Study Director for each of the four regions of the
Pacific Southwest was selected. The Directors and CPS stand ready
to provide information and assistance as may be necessary to help
in the preparation of the National Assessment.

3. Future Activities. CPS was activated by PSIAC to manage the
preparation of the four regional Type I Framework Studies in the
Pacific Southwest. With the completion of the studies and the
Analytical Summary Report, the subcommittee elected to revaluate
the role it should play in PSIAC. The subcommittee is following
through on the assessment of its role and expects to report to
PSIAC on its organization and mission at the 73-3 meeting. CPS
will continue its water and related land planning coordination
role for the Pacific Southwest and liaison with the Water Resources
Council for PSIAC.

.

Richard J. Shuk1e, Chairman
Coordinated Planning
Subcommittee, PSEAC

13
