<br />bb149G <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SUBCOMMITTEE <br /> <br />SUMMARY OF FISCAL YEAR 1973 ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />The activities and actions of the Executive Subcommittee during the year <br />are summarized as follows: <br /> <br />72-3 Meeting - September 6, 1972, Rodeway Inn, Salt Lake City, Utah <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1. Considered PSIAC Representation at WRC Joint Council of Representatives- <br />River Basins Commission Chairmen Meetings, and recommended that the Chair- <br />man, PSIAC forward a letter to the Water Resources Council expressing <br />PSIAC's desire to be represented at the meetings. <br /> <br />2. Discussed the concept of a permanent PSIAC staff, and funding of a <br />staff and related expenses. It was recommended that the Chairman, PSIAC <br />be authorized to forward a letter to the Director, Water Resources Council <br />requesting funding in the amount of $50,000 per year. <br /> <br />3. Recommended that the Chairman, PSIAC be authorized to make arrangements <br />with National Archives and Records Service of the Federal General Services <br />Administration for permanent storage of PSIAC fIles. <br /> <br />4. Developed a schedule for review of the PSIAC Technical Subcommittee <br />functions. <br /> <br />72-4 Meeting - December 6, 1972, Hilton Inn, San Diego, California <br /> <br />1. Recommended that the representative of the State of Utah be elected <br />PSIAC Chairman for Fiscal Year 1974. <br /> <br />2. Heard a report on arrangements made with the GSA National Archives and <br />Records Service, Region 9, San Francisco for permanent storage of PSIAC <br />materials. <br /> <br />3. Reviewed the current functions and proposed issues for consideration <br />by the Environmental Technical Subcommittee. A report on the activities <br />of the Environmental Technical Subcommittee was accepted with the consensus <br />that the Subcommittee ha4 a good program as outlined. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4. Discussed further the question of funding of PSIAC in view WRC's inability <br />to provide funding. A three-member Ad Hoc Committee was constituted to <br />explore various means co obtain PSIAC funding, particularly with regard to <br />sharing the out-of-pocket expenses by the Chairmanship agency or state. <br /> <br />73-1 Meeting - March 7, 1973, Western Skies Motor Hotel, Albuquerque, New <br />Mexico <br /> <br />1. Heard reports on publication of the Water Management Technical Subcommit- <br />tee's River Mile Indexes and a paper of the Recreation Technical Subcommit- <br />tee entitled "Discussion of the Impact of Urbanization on Recreation and <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />
