Sopper, Pennsy1vanis State Univer- <br />sity Institute for Research, 108 Research <br />Unit A, University Park, Pa. 16802. <br />Telephone (814) 865-8355. <br /> <br />NEW PLATTE <br />RIVER BASIN <br />STUDY <br /> <br />The study of the Platte River Basin in <br />Nebraska, funded for FY 1972, has been and <br />is now being conducted under the direction <br />of the Water Resources Council in accordance <br />with the policy enunciated in its July 1970 <br />Statement, "Water and Related Land Resources <br />Planning." As soon as the new Missouri <br />River Basin Commission is in actual operation, <br />the responsibility for the study will shift <br />to the Commission. <br /> <br />In the meantime, Nicholas L. Barbarossa, <br />Regional Leader, Central States, U.S. Water <br />Resources Council, has been serving as <br />Acting Study Director in addition to his other <br />duties. Ralph Waddington, representing the <br />State of Nebraska, is serving as Assistant <br />Study Director. <br /> <br />The Platte River Basin Planning Board, which <br />provides advice and consultation to the <br />Study Director, is composed of : the Assistant <br />Study Oirector; Mr. Stuart Jessee, Department <br />of Agriculture; Mr. Christopher Garvey, Corps <br />of Engineers; Mr. Charles Hajinian, Environ- <br />mental Protection Agency; and Mr. Paul Harley, <br />Department of Interior. All board members <br />are responsible for the quantIty, quality and <br />timeliness of the technical inputs from each <br />of their respective organizations. <br /> <br />~~r:;,ro <br />
