<br />003275 <br /> <br />Appendix F <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSI~G DESIG~ATION OF PORTIONS OF THE CACHE LA POUDRE RIVER <br />AS WILD. SCENIC OR RECREATIONAL PURSUANT TO THE WILD AND SCENIC ACT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 2, 1986, the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act was passed by <br />Congress; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act states: "It is hereby declared <br />to be the policy of the United States that certain selected rivers of the <br />Nation which, with their immediate environments, possess outstandingly <br />remarkable scenic, recreational. geologic, fish and wildlife, historial, <br />cultural, or other similar values, shall be preserved in free-flowing <br />conditions, and that they and their immediate environments shall be protected <br />for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations."; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a 1975 amendment (PL 93-621) to the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act <br />required the study of twelve rivers in the state, one of which was the Cache <br />La Poudre; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Colorado and the U.S. Forest Service have prepared <br />an environmental impact statement and subsequent recommendations regarding <br />possible Wild and Scenic designation of the Cache La Poudre River; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an Ad Hoc Committee of local officials, water <br />enviornmentalists appointed by Congressman Brown has studied <br />agreement on designation as reflected in H.B. 3547. <br /> <br />users and <br />and reached <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />LARIMER COUNTY THAT: <br /> <br />The County of Larimer supports the designation of the Cache La Poudre <br />River as Wild, Scenic or Recreational as outlined specifically in H.B. 3547 as <br />proposed by Congressman Brown. <br /> <br />DATED this 11 day of October 1985. as of October 22. 1985 <br /> <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF THE COUNTY OF LARIMER <br /> <br />"f2/1d-:fJJ .4kLk <br /> <br />Chairma <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br />ATI'EST: <br />C17~l.. dciC7> <br /> <br />Deputy and/Act1ng ~lerK <br />of sai~'Board <br /> <br />L--. <br />
