This <br />gain in storage was 39,900 acre feet, leaving 136,500 acre feet <br />of Credit Water which was physically spilled in 1942. <br />Commencing on May 12, 1942, all Credit Water of Colo- <br />rado and New Mexico had been spilled and their credits at <br />the beginning of 1942 had been eliminated. <br /> <br />Usable Water was spilled continuously through July 10, <br />'1942, and intermittently thereafter until, October 15, 1942, in <br />the aggregate amount of 470,100 acre feet. Thereafter no <br />water was released from Elephant Butte Reservoir in excess <br />of Project requirements, which was currently passed through <br />Caballo Reservoir. <br /> <br />Prior to October 16, 1942, the minimum quantity in <br />storage in Elephant Butte Reservoir at all times, exceeded <br />1,830,000 acre feet. <br /> <br />The expenses of Administration during the fiscal year <br />ending June 30, 1942, were $18,026,67, of which $5,800.00 was <br />borne by the United States under cooperative agreements. <br />The balance $12,226.67 was borne equally by the three States <br />in the amount of $4,075.55 each. <br /> <br />Factual data and records bearing upon the administration <br />of the Compact are available in the files of the Commission. <br /> <br />Respectfully yours, <br /> <br />S/M.
