<br /> <br />REEVALUATION STATEMENT <br /> <br />NARROWS UNIT, COLORADO <br /> <br />PURPOSE <br /> <br />This statement supplements and modifies the Regional Director's <br />Report on the Narrows Unit, Colorado, South Platte Division, Missouri <br />River Basin Project, dated January 1967, contained in House Document <br />No. 320, 90th Congress, 2d Session. The modifications are as <br />follows: <br /> <br />(1) Project and OM&R costs have been indexed to reflect <br />January 1969 price levels. <br /> <br />(2) The interest rate for economic analysis has been <br />revised from 3-1/8 percent to 3-1/4 percent. For <br />financial analysis an exact rate of 3.342 percent has <br />been used in determining reimbursable costs under <br />Public Law 89-72. <br /> <br />(3) Flood control benefits have been revised by the Corps <br />of Engineers. <br /> <br />(4) A fish hatchery has been added and fish and wildlife <br />costs and benefits have been revised. <br /> <br />(5) Benefits, costs, and the construction schedule for <br />recreation development were reevaluated by the National <br />Park Service based on updated criteria for construction <br />costs, population, annual costs, and vehicular traffic. <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION OF THE PLAN <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The plan,for the Narrows Unit is identical to the plan contained <br />in the January 1967 report except for the addition of a fish hatchery to be <br />constructed downstream from the dam. This feature has been added at the <br />request of the State of Colorado as indicated by a statement appended to <br />this report. ' <br /> <br />The unit would be located in northeastern Colorado along the South <br />Platte River. Irrigable lands are in Morgan, Logan, Washington, and <br />Sedgwick Counties. Narrows Dam and nearly all of the reservoir area <br />would be in Morgan County. A small portion of the flood control pool <br />would extend into Weld County. ' <br />
