<br />o <br /> <br />- <br />'~. <br /> <br />,..... <br />_. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />Lands vary in elevation; the lowest lying lands are those isolated <br />tracts along the lower Smith fork, and the highest are those lands <br />in the Coal Creek area. <br /> <br />Soils are generally deep with medium-textured surfaces and medium <br />to fine-textured subsoils and are underlain by gravel or cobble. <br />They have medium water intake rates, medium to high water-holding <br />capaci ties and a dominant slope of six percent. <br /> <br />The evaluation areas as described will serve as the basis for the remainder <br />of the report. Soils, crop production, land development costs, water <br />requirements, economic analyses and other aspects of the reappraisal of <br />direct agricultural benefits will be discussed in terms of these evaluation <br />areas. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />- 7 - <br />
