002286 Mapping ComPleted and CUrrently in Pr~ss Of the 180,000 square miles in the Pacific Southwest as here defined, about 113,500 square miles or 63 percent is covered b,y topographic maps at standard accuracy. (See fig. 3). Most 01' these maps are published, but a few are available in advance copy ~. In addition, mapping is in early stages over about 7 percent 01' the area. . '.!his caupleted mapping covers most of the areas at the Central Arizona Aqueduct, Charleston !)un and Reservoir, and Marble ~on Dam and Reservoir units understood to be proposed b,y the Bureau at Reclamation. With work in progress, it also covers parts at the Granite Reef Aqueduct, Maxwell Dam and Reservoir, and Buttes Dam and Reservoir units. Short-range Schedule '.!here is proposed a short-range or six-year schedule at topographic mapping to cauplete work now in progress and to make certain new starts in 1965-1967. Latest 01' the new starts would produce advance copy b,y 1969 and published maps by 1970. !lbe proposed schedule is based on the cons,truction priorities understood to have been set by the Bureau of Reclamation, also on SUrvey proposals for hydrologic and geologic investige.tioos.
