<br />I <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />002206 <br /> <br />Act specifically states that Bureau of Land Management will <br /> <br />manage these lands for outdoor recreation, wilderness, fish and <br /> <br />wildlife, and other public values. <br />Fish and Wildlife Service <br />The Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife aids <br />in the conservation of the nation's migratory birds, certain <br /> <br />mammals, and sport and commercial fishes. Activities include a <br /> <br />system of national wildlife refuges, national fish hatcheries, <br /> <br />and the management of migratory game bird populations through <br /> <br />the regulation of harvest. The Division of River Basin Studies <br /> <br />prepares reports on the effects federally planned or federally <br /> <br />licensed water development projects would have on fish and wild- <br /> <br />life resources. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />II <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The principal legislation outlining the Bureau!s <br />responsibilities includes: <br />1. Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act (Public Law <br />85-624) <br /> <br />This Act is considered a milestone in conservation <br /> <br /> <br />legislation. It specifies that fish and wildlife conservation <br /> <br /> <br />receive equal consideration and be coordinated with other features <br /> <br /> <br />of water development programs, and that conservation measures <br /> <br />be incorporated in plans for Federal water developments. <br /> <br />2.
