Operations of the project facilities will be combined
with the operation of the existing Fruitland Irrigation Company's facilities
(Contract No. 14-06-400-5763 dated March 27, 1972)

/"~''-., .
c....~'1)I.'-.."- ('1--',> ,..-,' ,,' ,.,'
SP-EG*AL--.EFFECT-S

This section of Colorado is semi-arid and is presently undergoirtg a
general decline in population due to the undependable and inadequate
water supply (approximately 25% of optimum thru existing facilities over
the past 25 years). The area has been designated a depressed area under
the Public Works & Economic Development Act of 1965.

Completion of the project would not only be of great significant value
to the area - including an increase of over 2 million dollars to the local
tax base - being in a cattle production area where all irrigated crops
would be for livestock production, which at the present time could be of
significant national benefit.

4
