The COE received comments from the public, governmental agencies,
and special interest groups at the public meetings and in letters
received through April 23, 1985. These comments have been compiled and
summarized into the following discussion of issues. Fifty-two people
attended the meetings, and most of those in attendance offered at least
one comment. In addition, the COE received 29 letters commenting on
the Task 2 report. Of these letters, 10 were from the public, 11 were
from special interest groups, and 8 were from governmental agencies.
Several of these documents consisted of in-depth reviews of the entire
draft report.

This fact sheet contains a summary of major issues compiled from

the comments received during the review process, the COE's technical

review of these issues, and the changes that will be made to Task 2 as

a result of the review. Additionally, an explanation is included of

the COE' s policy regarding its use of this technical append ix. The

summary of issues is intended to present the concerns that the public,

governmental agencies, and special interest groups believe should be

addressed in the Task 2 technical appendix. In the process of consoli-

dating the comments, the potential exists that some concerns have been

misinterpreted. If this has occurred, please bring it to the attention

of the COE by writing to the address provided in the cover letter

accompanying this document.

PURPOSE

The purpose of Technical Appendix 2 is to provide a technically

based, reasonable forecast or prediction of future water demands within

the EI5 demand area. The future water demand forecasts are used to

determine the need for and timing of future water source development.

The forecasts do not represent or predict exact future water demand.

2
