REPLY TO
ATTE NTlON OF,

DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY
OMAHA DISTRICT CORPS OF ENGINEERS
6014 U.S. Post Office and Courthouse
Omaha, Nebraska 68102

1iR0PD (TASK 2)

This fact sheet summarizes the major issues raised during the public
comment period for Draft Technical Appendix 2, Future Water Demands;
the Corps of Engineers' (COE's) analyses of these issues; and decisions
made regarding modification of the Task 2 water demand modeling proce-
dures follo\Jing the COE's technical review of the comments.

Approximately 170 separate comments dealing with virtually every aspect
of the CaE analysis of future water demands were received. Each com-
ment and, in particular, the data submitted in support of each comment
were. carefully reviewed by the COE during the technical review of Task
2. Follo\Jing completion of the review, the major issues represented by
the comments \Jere compiled for presentation in this fact sheet.

Following distribution of this fact sheet, the COE will continue to
review new data that are pertinent to the estimation of future y,,'ater
demands in terms of their applicability to the Metropolitan Denver
Water Supply EIS until the EIS is made final.

Of specific interest are the demographic. socioeconomic. and economic
projections for the Denver metropolitan area. Should the economic
assumptions which drive population projections change significantly in
the next 9 to 12 months, the resultant changes in the demand forecasts
would be incorporated into the Task 2 analysis.

Copies of this fact sheet will be available for public review at the 26
public libraries and agencies which have been designated as repositor-
ies for Hetropolitan Denver Water Supply EIS documentation.
