.

~

00l/~5

3

April precipitation was 80 to 100 percent of normal in the Uintah Basin, 150 to
200% in the Yampa and White River drainages. This pattern is reflected in the
changes to the water supply forecasts. They showed a 5 to 10 percent drop in
the forecast for the Uintah Basin and 10 to 15 percent increases in othe areas
of the lower Green River Basin. October through April precipitation is generally
120 to 200 percent of average except in the Uintah Basin where it ranges 100 to
120 percent.

Snow measurements taken at the end of April indicate these basin averages:
Strawber~J 163%, Duchesne 122%, Price 174%, Huntington 162%, and Fremont 300%.

Streamflow remained high during April. Flow on the Green River at Green River,
Utah for April was 632,000 acre-feet, 150% and at Whiterocks near Whiterocks it
was 2,900 acre-feet, 121%. October through April flow for Green River at Green
River, Utah was 500,600 acre-feet, 159%.

May 1, 1984 storage in Flaming Gorge Reservoir is 3.067 million acre-feet, 131%
of average and 82% of capacity. Lake Powell end-of-month storage is 21.06 million
acre-feet, 84% of capacity and 1.7 million acre-feet lower than last year at this
time.
