Of the 1,650 pos- <br />sible combinations tested, only 34 were statistically different from zero at <br />the I-percent level of significance; only 27 of those had more than 2 years of <br />concurrent record. Considering 1,650 combinations of purely random numbers, <br />one would expect about 16 or 17 correlations significantly different from zero <br />at the I-percent significance level. Apparently then, monthly precipitation, <br />by itself, is not a good indicator of monthly discharge. The only statisti- <br />cally significant results from this analysis are: (1) Station 07104000 <br />(Monument Creek at Pikeview) correlated with five different precipitation <br />stations (2446, 3828, 5730, 6131, and 8781) with the highest correlation <br /> <br />67 <br />
