Potential Water Developments Not Part of Yellow Jacket Investigation In addition to the Yellow Jacket investigations, other studies and plans for water development in the White River drainage have been and are still being made. Some have been initiated by private companies and would develop a water supply for a single purpose, while some others would pro- vide for several purposes. All of the potential developments relat~ to the real needs of the area in varying degrees. Although some of the proposed developments would complement each other in meeting the needs, others represent alternative means of providing for the same needs and would also compete for the same water supply. A summary of the more sig- nificant plans is presented here to give proper perspective to the poten- tial development of water supplies. Upper White River plans Several potential developments in the South Fork of the White Riv~r drainage have been investigated by private companies over the years. Ear- lier proposals "ere mostly conce.:ned with hydroelectric production, but more recently the possible demand for oil shale water has dominated the planning. 11
