In terms of the percent of total regional <br /> <br />earnings accounted for by agriculture, the Missouri ranks 2nd <br /> <br />among the 20 Regions (11.4 percent of regional earnings). <br /> <br />Total Personal Income and Population (Chart 1) <br /> <br />Between 1968 and 2020 total personal income in the Missouri <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />is projected to increase about 8 times -- from $25.4 billion in <br /> <br />1968 to $203.6 billion in 2020. The rate of increase is less than <br /> <br />the eight-and-one-half-fold increase projected for total personal <br /> <br />income nationally. <br /> <br />During the same time period total population in the Missouri <br /> <br />is expected to increase 1.8 times -- from 8.3 million to 15.1 <br /> <br />million.
