Composed <br />largely of older rooks ot the range and <br />represents in part reworked Bishop and <br />Browns park oonglomerates.. <br />. <br /> <br />Friable chalk-White to grayish cross- <br />bedded sandstones, in part tuffaceous. <br />Lake, fluviatile and some eolian de- <br />posits.. Also cherty sandstones- and <br />ohert beds and concretions. A basal <br />conglomerate composed'of conglomeratic <br />sandstone and ~uartz1te from the Uinta <br />Mountain at'oup.. <br /> <br />A poorly-sorted conglomerate consisting <br />of sand, pebbles and boulders .whioh <br />attain a diameter of several feet. <br />Composed in large part of red sandstone <br />ahd 'l.uartzi te of the Uinta Mountain <br />group.. Also gray and red limestones, <br />$andstones, and oherts of the Pennsyl- <br />vanian and Mississippian. Oocasionally <br />sohists, pegmatite and grayish quartz-' <br />ite from the Archean (Red Creek) ocour. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Consists prinoipally of dark_carbonaceous <br />shales that weather light gray to yel- <br />lowish butf and form soft clay deposits <br />Calcite geodes common. Thin sandstone ' <br />lenses. CephalopodS' and pelecypods <br />are fairly abundant. Presence of alka.. <br />Ii minerals renders' water impo~ble. ' <br />Shallow oil nroduction at Ran2e~v. <br /> <br />Buff marine and continental calcareous <br />sandstone containing pelecyp~dsi shark <br />teeth, plant remains.
