<br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
<br />
<br />President Nichols declared a quorum present, and opened the meeting by asking if
<br />there were any corrections or alterations to the Minutes of the June 20, 1968 meeting
<br />as distributed. There being no correction~ the Minutes were approved as mailed.
<br />
<br />TREASURER'S REPORT:
<br />
<br />Thomson read the Financial Statement for the period Jllne 20, 1968 to July 18, 1968
<br />in detail, and Treasurer Shoun moved that the Treasurer 1& Report be approved and
<br />the bills paid. Motion seconded by Christy and unanimously carried.
<br />
<br />QUARTERLY AND SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT:
<br />
<br />Thomson read the Quarterly and Semi-Annual Financial Report, prepared by the CPA
<br />Firm of McDonald, Halbig and Associates, and Young moved, seconded by Wagner
<br />that the Report be approved. Unanimously carried.
<br />
<br />FRY-ARK FUNDING:
<br />
<br />President Nichols stated that the U. S, Senate recommended an appropriation of $12. 3
<br />mUlion for the Fryingpan-Arkansas Proiect, compared to a House recommendation of
<br />$11.65 million and the matter will now be referred to a Conference Comm.lttee. Mr.
<br />Thomson observed that, historically, the Congress has approved the recommendations
<br />of Ccnirerence Committees, due to the fact time is running out. This has been parti-
<br />cularly true regarding the Fryingpan- Proiect when in several instances the Senate
<br />recommended a higher appropriation than was approved by the House, and the higher
<br />amount was ultimately adopted by the Congress and signed into Law by the President.
