<br />to construct its reservoir and pLlfT{>ing stations. The purpose of this in-

<br />by applicant of $621.49. In AUgust of 1976, pursuunt to u contract betw2en :
<br />applicant and:CU1/Lirnnetics, Environrrental Consultants of 9025 Fast Kenyon
<br />Avenue, Denver, Colorado, representatives of this Conp:lIlY conducted a pre-
<br />liminarly pot.im-ol<XJicul survey of the are.:> earlier insl'cctcd by awlicant' s ,
<br />personnel and'duly rendered a rq:ort thereon the sarre rnntJl. This report '
<br />analyzes the biology of the rivers and strearrs in the area, the types of fish I
<br />and insect life inhabiting said river and streams or the areas adjacent thete-,
<br />to, expected precipitation in the general area, bacterial and chemical analysiS
<br />of the wa ters i from 'l.arious sanplinq points in the urea, and related studies.1 I
<br />The cbvious pprpose for ull of the foregoing was to ha\A? this vital informtion
<br />available as background data for envirorurental authori ties who nOool have or rray
<br />have jurisdiction over the area at such tine as applicant desires to cbtain '
<br />the necessary: pennits to construct its project. FUrther studies need to be ;
<br />undertaken inj the areas just outlined. A total of approximately $920.00 waS
<br />expended in ci:mnectioo with the CTIo\ILirrn1etics inspecticn, analysis and report.

<br />B. In Jnne of 1975, subsequent to a rreeting attended by various I
<br />enployees and I representatives of applicant, it was datcn:1i.ned that an archaeo-
<br />logical study! should be rrade on the premises where the n"servoir and PLlfT{> ,
<br />stations are planned to be built. This was pa.rtiC:lllarl':,' irrportant I

<br />in view of the fact that serre of the land in the area where the projects
<br />are proposed; to be located belongs to the united States and is administered,
<br />by tJ1e De~t of Agriculture through the Forest Service. Acrordingly"
<br />in July of 1975 arrangerrents were made with Dr. Elizabeth Ann Morris of
<br />the Colorado I State Uni versi ty Dcpart:nent of Anthropology to ronduct such
<br />a study. A reronnaissance was carried out by her in August, 1975, and
<br />her report s&mitted on Noverrber 12, 1975. The archaeological study was
<br />carried out bt a total cost to applicant of $1,990.00.

<br />C. I In September of 1975 the managerrent of applicant began to
<br />give serious'ronsideration to acquisition of necessary land in the area
<br />where the prc?jects will be located. In February of 1976 title rrerroranda
<br />was received.: fran the local title cxnpany in Steaml::oat Springs, furnishing
<br />,
<br />applicant detailed informtion roncerning the various owners of lands in
<br />the area. After receiving this applicant budgeted substantial funds for
<br />land purchase. In the sumrer of 1976 several ronferences were held to
<br />determine the best way to accaT1plish desired land purchases. In December
<br />of that year: a 104 acre tract, lying alrrost entirely within the proposed
<br />reservoir site, was found availuble for sale and after an appraisal in
<br />March, 1977 the property was duly purchased in August of that year. The
<br />tract of land just referred to was acquired at a cost to applicant of
<br />$130,000.00 plus norml closing rosts, legal fees and appraisal charges.
<br />Applicant plans to pursue diligently its land acquisition program in the
<br />project area.
