<br />LAKE MORAVE <br />(COLORADO RIVER) <br /> <br /> <br />Water Year 1991 <br /> <br />At the beginning of waler year 1991, the water surfaee <br />elevation of Lake Mohave, which is impounded by Davis Dam, <br />was 632.9 feet, with an active storage of approximately <br />1,431,000 acre-feel. <br /> <br />During the winter months, after some fluctuation, the walc-t <br />level was gradually raised to approximately 645 feet, with an <br />active storage of approximately l,760,oooacrc-fect by the end <br />of March 1991. The water level was then lowered during the <br />April through Maypcriod. The rcservoir declined toelevation <br />639 feet during the latter part ofJune 1991. During Juiy and <br />August, Lake Mohave gradually lowered further to an <br />elevation of 635 feet. with an active storage of approximately <br />1,487,000 acre-feel, in the middle of Augusl. The reservoir <br />ended the water year at an elevation of 638.3 feet, with <br />1,571,400 acre-feet in acthe storage. <br /> <br />Lake Mohave releases were made for dO'Yr'Ilstream wdter use <br />requirements, including diversions by users in the vicinities of <br />Laughlin, New.da; Bullhead City, Arizona; and Needles, <br />California, by The Metropolitan Water District of Southern <br />California (MWD), the Cenlral Arizona Project (CAP), and <br />the users dO'Mlstream from Parker Dam. During the water <br />year, total releases of approximately 8,377,000 acre-feet were <br />made at Davis Dam, all of which passed through lhe lurbines <br />for power production.
