By utilizing sustained yield and other <br /> <br />modern conservation methods in the area, Oregon's ,/;',700,000,000 a year lumber <br /> <br />industry is assured of a prosperous future. <br /> <br />This is a conservation project in one state. It reflects my thinking of what <br /> <br />should be done. to conserve the natural resources of all the States. Thus, in every <br /> <br />phase of conservation, whether in the forests, on the rivers, on the public lands, <br /> <br />or under the lWlds, we are working daily to the end that our program will mean <br />lithe greatest good for the greatest number for the longest time". <br />It is a difficult task. If ~le are to achieve our goal we will need the under- <br />standing and cooperation of groups like this throughout the country.
