Although still 'I~py: this chart suggests that
Stone has gradually purchased mon: timber in the Rio Grande timbersbed over. the last 10 years. Note that
the rolling avelaie for FY' 1990 is just about 29 MMBF - their current capacity. Officials at Stone
suggest that part of this effect is that the availability of private stumP3ie bas greatly diminished and they
expect private stumP3ie to colltinue to be difficult to acquire. ~.National Forest supplies are expected
to COII1prise a minor part of their fUture volumes.

A chart of sawtimber sold 011 the Rio Grande National Forest (see timber supply seCtion) suggests 110
significant increase in the availability of stumP3ie &om the Rio Grande National Forest. This would
suggest that Stolle bas been successful in acquiring volumes outside the Rio Grande forest. To test this
idea, we COllStrUcted the following chart v.ilicb illustrated the percentage of timbershed volume thai Stolle
has acquired from the .Rio Grande forest by year. This is displayed directly below.

_II _'.____. Vol....
