Tables
8,9, and 10 show key aspects of hydroelectric power generation in 1930.

Operating levels and characteristics of the major reservoirs,
except Lakes Mohave and Havasu, at the beginning and the end of the
water year are shown in Table 8. Lakes Mohave and Havasu were held
at relatively constant levels. All reservoirs except Fontenelle
stayed above rated head elevation throughout the water year. Stati~~ics
on operating year water releases from Hoover Dam and electric genera~ion
are shown in Table 9. Generation at Hoover Dam during the 1979-80
operating year was 25 percent above the previous operating year, due
mostly to excess releases because storage was full.

The Colorado River Board's 196)-64 Annual Report contains details
of the 1962 Glen Canyon Filling Criteria. These criteria establish an
accounting system to handle the reduced Hoover generation caused by
initial filling of the CRSP reservoirs. Table 10 shows the monthly
values for the 1980 operating year of the firm energy deficiency. I~
June 1980, the filling criteria was terminated. The total deficienc','
in Hoover firm power during its existence, due to the filling of CRS?
reservoirs, was 8 billion kilowatt hours.

-8-
