<br />source of water for Lake Meredith Reservoir is the Lake Meredith Reservoir Inlet, which has its <br />headgate at the Colorado Canal. The Lake Meredith Reservoir Outlet exits the southwestern side <br />A7QfLake Meredith Reservoir and proceeds into or under Holbrook Canal and under the Fort Lyon <br />1.. ~orage Canal to discharge into the Arkansas River. Both Inlet and Outlet are owned by the Lake <br />Meredith Reservoir Company. The Bob Creek Canal, a natural creek bed, enters Lake Meredith <br />Reservoir from the west. <br /> <br />Gravel Lakes <br /> <br />Cultural Resource Inventory Projects: The project areas of seven cultural resource inventories <br />intersect or are near the Gravel Lakes study areas. Project areas intersecting the eastern gravel <br />lakes study area consist of 23rd Lane in Pueblo and Highway 50 by-pass; one other project area, <br />the Fountain Creek Flood Plain. is directly west of the study area=s boundaries. Project areas <br />intersecting or adjacent to the western gravel lakes study area include the Pueblo to Pueblo Dam <br />highway, which intersects the southern study area boundary. The Excess Real Property survey <br />area is southwest and the Pueblo Nature Center survey area is located northeast of the study area. <br />One site, the Goodnight Barn (5PE485) is listed on the National Register of Historic Places <br />(NRHP). No inventories have been conducted in the study area located in the Devine quadrangle. <br /> <br />Officially Recorded Sites: Two officially recorded sites exist within the study area in the <br />Northwest Pueblo quadrangle. Both are historic sites and consist of a War Department marker <br />and the Goodnight Barn, mentioned above. The Goodnight Barn (5PE485), a historic structure, <br />was listed on the NRHP on July 30, 1974. No recorded prehistoric sites are on file in the gravel <br />lakes study area. <br /> <br />Unrecorded Irrigation Ditches: At least nine unrecorded irrigation ditches and several seepage <br />ditches are located in the study area. Information about the ditches was obtained from records <br />on file at the Colorado Division of Water Resources, Division 2 Office, Pueblo, and from the <br />Division 2 Water Commissioner, Joe Flory. <br /> <br />Williams Creek Reservoir <br /> <br />Cultural Resource Inventory Projects: No cultural resource projects have occurred in or adjacent <br />to the Williams Creek Reservoir location. <br /> <br />Officially Recordcd Sitcs: !l;o sites have been recorded in or adjacent to this study area. <br /> <br />Unrecorded Irrigation Ditches: No irrigation ditches are recorded within the Williams Creek <br />Reservoir study area. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />Cultural Issues <br /> <br />".-' _. <br />
