At the

time of field sampling, EC measurements are taken along with an

instantaneous flow measurement. The results of the laboratory

analyses are sent to the USGS's Carson City, Nevada office for

evaluation and then ,to the USBR's Boulder City, Nevada office

for flow~weighted monthly salinity determinations. A USGS EC

recorder at this station takes hourly readings with the recorder

charts being retrieved monthly.

Below Par~er Dam Station

The sample collection below Parker Dam is done by USBR.

Laboratory analyses are performed at USBR's laboratory in

Boulder City, Nevada. Water samples are taken weekly and a

complete chemical analysis is made on the sample taken closest

to the first of the month. TDS determinations for the other

three weekly samples are made using the residue method and are

used as cross checks to detect any discrepancies in salinity

data. Ee readings a~e taken on a weekly basis and daily EC values

are interpolated from the weekly values.

Palo Verde canal Station

At the Palo Verde Canal Station, water samples are collected

monthly by the USBR and a complete chemical analysis is made en

the sample at the laboratory in Boulder City, Nevada.
