MaJor construction activities in the Upper
Colorado Region during Fiscal Year 1986
occurred on the Dolores, Cenlral Utah.
Dallas Creek, and Seedskadee Projects
Conslruction. O&M, or rehabililation was
also in progress on the Navajo, Flaming
Gorge, Wayne N. Aspinall, and Glen Can-
yon Unlls of the Colorado River Storage
Project; Bonneville and Jensen Unifs of
the Cenlral Utah Project: Dolores and
Seedskadee Projects; and the Colorado
River Basin Salinity Control ProJect:

Conslrucllon expendllures on these Colo-
rado River Storage Projects totaled
$126.6 million.

Dolores Project; Water Year 1986
marked the third year 01 the filling crite-
ria for McPhee Reservoir, a major feature
of the Dolores Project: The reservoir
reached elevation 6,855 leet In early
June. Releases for irrrgatlon use balanced
inllow during the summer months, and
the reservoir held steady at that elevation
for the remainder of the IllIing slages to
insure tile sale lilling of Ihe reservoir.

Recreation lacilities at McPhee Reservoir
were dedicated May 24, 1987. Commis-
sioner of Reclamation C. Dale Duvall was
the principal speaker. Upper Colorado
Regional Director Clifford Barrett pre-
sented Dolores District Ranger Leonard
Atencio 01 the San Juan Forest Service
with a scroll granting them jurisdiction
over the rnanagemenl of Ihe recreation
facilities.

A $6 million construction contract lor the
Cahone Pumping Plant and Laterals was
awarded In July 1985. The contract will
Include construction 01 a pumping plant,
service yard, prelabricated buildings and
other facilllies, as well as laterals to carry
water. Work on this feature was approxi-
mately 30 percent complete at the end 01
the fiscal year

A $7,600.000 contract lor Fairview Pump-
ing Plant and laterals was awarded in
April 1985. The contract work was about
90 percent complole at the end 01 Fiscal
Year (FY) 86.

A $4,200,000 contract for construction
and paving of the Dolores-Norwood Road
and the paving of May Canyon Road was
awarded in April 1986. AI the end 01
FY 86, the contract was about 45 percent
complele.
