<br />Location.--Water_stage recorder, lat 37'41'20", long 106"27'30", in NWi sec. 29, T. 40 N., R, 5 E., on right
<br />bank, 20 it downstream from county highway bridge, 5 miles upstream from Pinos Creek, and 6 miles west
<br />of Del Norte. Datum of gage is 7, 980.25 ft above mean sea level, datum of 1929. Prior to May 16, 1908,
<br />staff gage at site 4 miles downstream. Records are equivalent.

<br />Drainag-e area.--I, 320 sq mi, approximately.
<br />
<br />Average discharge" --80 years (1890-1969), 909 cts (658, 600 acre-it per year).
<br />
<br />Extremes. -~1889-1969: Maximum discharge, 18,000 cts Oct. 5, 1911 (gage height, 6.80 ft), from rating curve
<br />extended above 6,000 cts; minimum daily, 69 cfs Aug. 21, 1902.

<br />Remarks. --Records excellent except for some winter months, which are fair. Flow regulated by four reservoirs,
<br />total capacity 126, 100 acre-it, and by several smaller ones. Six transmountain diversions import water into
<br />basin above station.
