<br />1 <br /> <br />.>,,-.' <br /> <br />Adjustment of Otowi Index Supply <br /> <br />The first and third paxagraphs concerning the schedule for <br />New Mexico set forth in the Rio Grande Compact Cammission Resolution <br />of Februs.ry 1948, and Article X of the Rio Grande Compact are quoted <br />as follows: <br /> <br />"(5) The Otowi Index Supply is the ,recorded flow of <br />the Rio Grande at the USGS gaging station at Otowi <br />Bridge near San Ildefonso (formerly station near <br />Bucllma.n) during the da.lenda.r year, corrected for the <br />operation of reservoirs constructed after 1929 in .the <br />drainage basin of the Rio Grande "between Lobatos and <br />otowi Bridge. <br /> <br />"(6) - - - - - - - - - <br /> <br />"The apP.lication of this schedule shall be subject to <br />the provisions hereinafter set forth and appropriate <br />adjustments shall be made for (a) any change in location <br />of gaging stations; (b) depletion after 1929 in New <br />Mexico of the natural runoff at Otowi Bridge; and (c) <br />any transmountain diversions into the Rio Grande <br />between Lo"batos and Elephant Butte Reservoir." <br /> <br />"ARTICLE X <br /> <br />"In the event water from another drainli\€;e 'basin shall <br />be imported into the Rio Grande Basin by the United <br />States or Colorado or New Mexico, or any of them jointly, <br />the State having the right to the use of such water shall <br />be given proper credit therefor in the application of <br />the schedules." <br /> <br />After the project is in operation otowi flows will be adjusted <br />to pre-project conditions for determining the Otowi Index Supply of <br />the Rio Grande Compact, <br /> <br />Recording reservoir level gages will be installed at all <br />tributary unit reservoirs and Heron Reservoir No.4. Evaporation <br />stations will be installed and maintained to obtain appropriate <br />evaporation data for each reservoir, The recorded flow at Otowi will <br />be adjusted. by subtraction of the Keron release of imported water <br />adjusted for new and increased depletions. between Heron Reservoir and <br />Otowi, correction for the operation of tributary unit reservoirs and <br />appropriate adjustment for hew and increased depletions by the tribu- <br />tary units.
