<br /> <br />THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR <br /> <br />WASHINGTON <br /> <br />February 22, 1990 <br /> <br />Honorable Roy Romer <br />Governor of Colorado <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br /> <br />Dear Governor Romer: <br /> <br />Enclosed is the 19th Annual Report on the operation of the Colorado River <br />which has been prepared in compliance with the Colorado River Basin Project <br />Act of September 30, 1968, (82 Stat, 885), Public Law 90-537. The report <br />describes the actual operation during water year 1989 for the reservoirs <br />along the Colorado River, constructed under the authority of the Colorado <br />River Storage Project Act and the Boulder Canyon Project Act. <br /> <br />The report also contains a projected plan of operation for water year 1990. <br />That plan was prepared in late 1989 and is based on the most probable runoff <br />conditions. The plan will be modified if necessary as the year pr09resses <br />due to any changes in runoff conditions. The Bureau of Reclamation will keep <br />representatives of the Colorado River Basin States and other appropriate <br />entities informed of any changes in the 1990 operatin9 plan through the <br />Colorado River Management Work Group. <br /> <br />The reservoir and river operations are kept in full compliance with the flood <br />control regulations established by the Corps of Engineers and with the <br />"Criteria for Coordinated Long-Range Operation of Colorado River Reservoirs," <br />issued by the Secretary of the Interior on June 4, 1970, in accordance with <br />section 602, Public Law 90-537. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />~~p. <br /> <br /> <br />Enclosure <br /> <br />cc: Mr. J.
