In addition, measurements of erosion
and aggradation, with correlative studies of watershed characteristics, were
made at several localities in the White and Cheyenne River Basins in western
l'rebraska, western South Dakota, and eastern Wyoming.

Other sediment investigations in progress during the quarter, but
supported by funds from sources other than the Missouri River Basin Project,
include the following: Studies relative to the trap efficiency of one
detention reservoir in Jiebraska and one in Colorado, operation of two sedi-
ment stations on Kiowa Creek in Colorado, investigations in the Medicine Creek
Basin, Nebraska involving operation of seven stations, and operation of one
station in Iowa, all in colJ.aboration with the Soil Conservation Service;
investigations in the Kansas River Basin involving operation of seven stations,
investigations on one retention reservoir in the lfemahe River Basin, and
compilation of available sediment data in these basins in cooperation with
the State of Kansas; operation of one station on a tributary of the Korth
Platte River in tlyoming, in cooperation with the state of Wyoming.

A draft of a report on "Chenifca:L quaJ:Hy and sedimentation of surface
waters of the Grand River Basin, :North and South IlIlkota" was essentially
completed, and work on reports for four other basins was continued.

Review and compilation of sediment station records for the 1955
water year were in progress.

Frank C.
