<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />001183 <br /> <br />Consumptive Uses and Losses (CU&L) Reports Data <br /> <br />Data for the time period, 1975-85 was taken from three of the previously <br />published Colorado River Svstem, Consumotive Uses and Losses Reoorts covering <br />the respective time periods: 1971-75, 1976-80, 1981-85. These reports were <br />prepared pursuant to Public Law 90-537, the Colorado River Basin Project Act <br />of 1968. <br /> <br />Drainaoe Areas <br /> <br />For the 1971-75 CU&L Report, the Gunnison River Drainage Area was divided into <br />four sub-basins: Upper Gunnison, North Fork & Smith Fork, Upper Uncompahgre, <br />and Lower Uncompahgre, The 1976-80 report used the same sub-basins as the <br />previous report and added a fifth: the Lower Gunnison. The 1981-85 and 1986- <br />90 reports subdivided the study area by county and a USGS defined hydrologic <br />unit. <br /> <br />Irrioated Acreaoe <br /> <br />Data for CU&L Report acreage were developed from state and county statistical <br />summaries of irrigated cropland. In addition to the crop categories that were <br />listed in CRSS, another category was added: "Other", Various crops included <br />in the "Other" category for each sub-bas i n are as fo 11 ows: <br /> <br />UPPER GUNNISON <br />Corn, dry beans, orchard, & small vegetables <br /> <br />NORTH FORK AND SMITH FORK <br />Dry beans, sugar beets, small vegetables & sorghum <br /> <br />LOWER GUNNISON <br />Dry beans, orchard, small vegetables & sorghum <br /> <br />UPPER UNCOMPAHGRE .. <br />Corn, dry beans, orchard & small vegetables <br /> <br />LOWER UNCOMPAHGRE <br />Dry beans, sugar beets, small vegetables & sorghum <br /> <br />The 1971-1990 cropping patterns throughout the Gunnison River Drainage Area, <br />as they were portrayed in the CU&L reports, are summarized in Table 4. <br />
