00113'5

.

Climatic Data

Temperature data was used for the same period, etc. as it was for the CRSS
data base. However, no monthly temperature corrections were made. Instead,
the data from weather stations were weighted to more adequately represent the
climate of each sub-basin. When data from one station was considered to
adequately represent the climatic conditions of a sub-basin, the station was
assigned a weight of 100%, When two or more stations were used, each station
was assigned a weight using professional judgement.

For the CU&l Report dated 1971-75, the Gunnison River Drainage Area was
divided into four sub-basins. These sub-basins and the corresponding weather
stations and weights are shown in Table 5.

Table 5. - 1971-75 CU&l Weather Stations
h D A

used in t e Gunnison River rainaqe rea
Sub-basin Weather Station
Station Weioht
UDDer Gunnison Gunnison 100 %
North Fork & Paonia 50 %
South Fork Delta 50 %
Upper Montrose 50 %
Uncompahgre Ouray 50 %
lower Montrose 50 %
Uncompahgre De lta 50 %

.

Data from the Delta weather station was unavailable for 1973; data from the
Montrose weather station was used instead.

For the CU&l Report dated 1976-80, the Gunnison River Drainage Area was
divided into five sub-basins.
