Precipitation for March was above <br />average. ; Breckenridge recorded the highest precipitation in 46 years <br />during March with 3.05 inches. <br /> <br />Temperatures over the Project were slightly above average for March. <br /> <br />March 1 $nowpack was 113 percent of average. Thi s is a 23 percent <br />improveme~t from thefebruary 1 measurements. <br /> <br />April weatiher saw significant storm systems move through the Project area. <br />Precipitation was much above average over the Project during April; <br />April 1 soowpackwas III percent of average. Temperatures were below <br />average fdr April. <br /> <br />May weather saw widespread storm systems early in the month and summer like <br />weather the last half of the month. Precipitation was varied over the <br />Project area with the west slope stations above average and the east slope <br />stations b,e10w average. The maximum snow-water accumulations for an <br />watersheds! occurred on May 1. Green mounta in recorded 19.2 inches on <br />May 1; Willow Creek recorded 12.0 inches on May 1, Granby recorded <br />15.5 inches on May 1; and lake Estes recorded 14.3 inches on May 1. <br />Percent of/average ranged from 132 percent at the Green Mountain watershed <br />to 156 perqent for the Willow Creek watershed. Temperatures for May were <br />slightly b~low average. June brought a combination of very warm and very <br />cool days ithroughout the Project area. Heavy snow fell at the higher <br />elevations iin early June. Temperatures ended up 1 t03 degrees Fahrenheit. <br />cooler than the 1961-1990 .average. July through August precipitation was <br />below average on all watersheds. The Green Mountain watershed recorded <br />40 percent' of average for July through August. Willow Creek and <br />lake Granbi watersheds recorded 56 percent of average for July through <br />August. The lake Estes watershed recorded 34 percent of average for July <br />through August. The maximum recorded temperature at Green Mountain <br />Reservoir was 820F on July 29. The maximum recorded temperature at <br />lake Granby: was 820F on July 29, and lake Estes recorded a maximum <br />temperature of 900F on July 11. <br /> <br />The minimum!recorded temperature at Green Mountain Reservoir was -18or on <br />January 3. ,The minimum recorded temperature at lake Granby occurred on <br />December 27 land January 4 and was -27oF, and lake Estes recorded a minimum <br />temperature ,of -10oF on January 10. <br /> <br />Alva B.
